Rivet Nut USA (an operating division of Cardinal Components, Inc.) is proud to be your Preferred Authorized Bollhoff Distributor. To provide our customers with the best availability and variety, we also offer non-Bollhoff rivet nuts & fasteners.
This page details Knurled Rivet Nuts designed with a thin or near-flush head and a thin-walled round body.
- Thin or near-flush head rivet nuts, also known as “minimized profile” or “thin-head” rivet nuts, provide a sleek and low-profile appearance compared to traditional flat or normal-headed rivet nuts. For more information about knurled round body rivet nuts with a flat or normal head, please click here to visit the dedicated page.
Our Knurled Round Body Rivet Nut options are extensive, but two standard offerings include near-flush or thin heads (this webpage) versus flat/normal/regular heads (click here for details on regular head).
Knurled Round Body Rivet Nuts (with Thin or Near-Flush Heads) combine a reduced profile with a thinner wall, offering cost savings on materials while maintaining excellent field performance. These rivet nuts are often referred to by various names, such as “thin-walled” or “minimized profile.”
A note on terminology: the term “low profile” is sometimes used interchangeably with “near-flush head,” which can cause confusion because “low profile” is interpreted differently across the industry. To ensure clarity, we prefer to use the terms “Knurled Round Body with a Thin or Near-Flush Head” or “Knurled Round Body with a Regular Head” to describe our offerings accurately.
Knurled Round Body Rivet Nuts (with Thin or Near-Flush Heads) provide a streamlined appearance and are well-suited for most applications, including automotive uses. Designed with a thinner-walled body and head, these rivet nuts are an excellent choice for an application that requires a near-flush installation, and a wide grip range is not necessary. This feature can help reduce inventory requirements and simplify assembly processes without compromising performance. They are compatible with our installation tooling options.
Material options for Knurled Round Body Rivet Nuts (with Thin or Near-Flush Heads) include aluminum, zinc-plated steel, and stainless steel. The world of Knurled Round Rivet Nuts is vast, and we’re here to help you find the perfect solution for your application. Please contact us for more information!
Knurled Round Body Rivet Nuts (with Thin or Near-Flush Heads) offer various advantages that help make them a reliable and versatile fastening solution used across various industries. The knurled surface enhances grip and minimizes slippage, providing excellent resistance to loosening in applications exposed to vibration or torque. The thin or near-flush head design features a lower profile compared to regular or flat-headed rivet nuts, offering a sleek finish while keeping the installation secure. This design is ideal for applications where space constraints or aesthetics are a priority. The round body simplifies installation in tight or irregular spaces.
Knurled Round Body Rivet Nuts (with Thin or Near-Flush Heads) are highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of materials, from thin sheet metals to softer plastics, without compromising the strength of the connection. They are available in various sizes and thread types, providing flexibility for custom applications. Their thin or near-flush head design works seamlessly with standard installation tooling, reducing installation time and costs. These rivet nuts are an efficient, cost-effective solution for both small-scale projects and large-scale manufacturing. Their reliability makes them an excellent choice for applications in automotive, aerospace, and machinery industries.

* Material for these rivet nuts are typically steel, with a zinc plating finish. However, these parts can also be made in aluminum or stainless steel, neither of which require a zinc plating due to their natural corrosion resistant properties with the material itself. To help convert the part numbers from a steel material to a aluminum or stainless steel material, please email or call us and we’ll get you into the correct part number and product.
** Plating for these parts are usually Zinc Yellow, about 98% of the time. About 2% of the time, customer desires a grey colored Zinc Clear finish. To convert the above part numbers from Zinc Yellow to Zinc Clear, please follow the below instructions:
- Bollhoff does not typically offer a Zinc Yellow.
- AVK (Swap out “4T” for Zinc Yellow and replace with “3T” for Zinc Clear)
- Atlas (Swap out “8” for Zinc Yellow and replace with “10” for Zinc Clear)
- Sherex (Add a “T” to the very end of the part number for Zinc Clear, ex: CAL2-470-2.0T)
